Rejuvenation heat treatment
By working the piece at high temperature, the dimensions and shapes of Γ' deposits change and also a brittle layer of carbides is created along the grain boundary, which will reduce the toughness and creep resistance. By increasing the temperature up to the dissolution temperature of the Γ ′ phase, these deposits return to their original state, and rapid cooling prevents the formation of Γ ′ deposits.
